Acne usually affects many people at particular times in their lives especially in the teenage years. However, some people develop acne as adults regardless of the age. It is a condition that has a serious impact on self-esteem. The causes for acne are many and varied and maybe a result of poor nutrition, insufficient cleaning regiments or hormonal. Often it is a combination of factors. Trying to get all of these factors into balance working harmoniously with each other can be difficult unless one fully understands the interdependency of hormones, diet and appropriate skin care. Having suffered from acne myself, I have tried nearly everything there is on the market. From "magic cures" to allopathic medicine, antibiotics and complimentary treatments, I tried them all. The experience is invaluable in my work with skin problems as I can truly understand what acne sufferers are going through.
